BIKES

Just to remind you, we stock the following bikes:

We are in the process of sorting out all our demo bikes and have the following bikes for you to test ride at this point in time:

·        Cannondale Rize, size medium

·        NINER EMD, size medium … (EMD stands for Eat My Dust!!)

We will offer you demo’s in IBIS, Ellsworth, Titus and more Niner’s soon.

In line with our previous newsletter, herewith then the NINER story.

”The big revolution”… yes, all Niner’s have 29’ wheels …

Niner Bikes was founded by Chris Sugai and Steve Domahidy, two riding buddies who regularly met at their local Wednesday night ride. Niner is the culmination of many conversations over coffee, the handlebars of their bikes and cold beer.

Before we tell you more about the brand and what makes this bike so great, let’s discuss the concept of LARGE WHEELS first. The basic concept is that a larger wheel will remain on top of obstacles rather than riding “in” the terrain. Riding above the terrain gives you more control and stability because you carry your momentum better. Riding rough stuff with smaller wheels often result in a start-stop action. With big wheels you just role through everything. The larger wheel also increases the centrifugal forces which improves stability even further. Then another huge plus is that the larger wheel increases the amount of tire contact to the ground improving traction greatly.

Niner also has a patented suspension design the call Constantly Varying Arc, or CVA™. It’s unique to Niner, designed in house, and works very differently from other full suspension bikes on the market. CVA™ works very differently to isolate pedalling forces and remain fully active under all conditions.

In order to isolate pedaling forces in a broader range of gearing choices the CVA’s™ ‘instant center’ location is in front of the drive train, in a more general location. In other words, when a rider cranks on the pedals, the chain is trying to pull the lower link down and away from the bottom bracket and the upper link in its regular rotational path. Since the rear triangle is one piece, the result of these opposing forces cancels each other out, leaving the only outlet for chain torque being rotation of the rear wheel, where it’s most wanted. In addition, since the wheel path of the CVA™ suspension is at its most rearward position at sag (between 25-30%), the suspension doesn’t have to overcome chain torque in order to be fully active. This dramatically increases small bump compliance even when hammering on the pedals.

We hope this gives you some understanding of CVA™, but the best test is to go out and ride a Niner full suspension bike, and see for yourself. CVA™ might be a marketing acronym, but the suspension design is much more than just marketing hype. Give it a try; see for yourself… we will have a Niner JETT demo for you to try very soon.

Just a reminder … WHEN YOU BUY A NINER FROM US, WE WILL NOT CHARGE YOU FOR LABOUR FOR AS LONG  AS YOU HAVE THE BIKE!

At WSQUARED we are committed to you like you have never been committed to before. If you buy a custom built bike from us, you will never pay labour for any work we do in our workshop on your beauty again … (This offer excludes Merida and Cannondale).
